You barely need a map for this, just the smell of fry oil and sunscreen. In Panama City Beach, the locals aren't chasing thin-crust trends; they're arguing over which dark bar stool serves a slice with a snap.

That loyalty matters here, where the turnover is as fast as the tide. You’ve got Mosey’s hiding its excellent dough inside a dim saloon, and then you’ve got Angelo’s, a 1954 family relic serving cinnamon butter with your steak.

This list covers the shellfish-free stretch from a trampoline park to a proper Italian kitchen with unforgettable tiramisu. No one spot is the whole story.

So grab a cold one, pick a starting point, and get going.

Highlights
Friendly owner, personal texts
Solid local alternative to chains
Worth braving limited seating
Super supreme hits sometimes
Takeout with outdoor tables

I walked into Zollo's and the owner knew my name. He sent me a text later to check if I liked the pizza. That personal touch beats any chain. The super supreme is a gamble, but when it hits, it's great. Seating is tight. You might wait. Grab a slice and use the outdoor tables instead. It's the kind of place locals keep quiet about. Nothing fancy, just solid pizza and a guy who cares. I'll be back. That text alone sealed it.

Standout Chicken Saltimbocca
Unforgettable tiramisu dessert

Bella Roma feels like someone's Italian kitchen, not a beach tourist stop. The staff treats you like a regular. My Chicken Saltimbocca arrived fresh and careful, not rushed. It was the best thing on the table. Then came the tiramisu. I forgot the rest of the meal. This place does things right, from the first bite to the last coffee sip. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. If you want pizza, get something else here. If you want a proper Italian dinner, this is it.

Memorable local recommendation

St. Andrews Slice House has a crispy bottom that snaps. The ingredients taste like they got picked this morning. I tried a creative combo I never would've ordered elsewhere. It worked. The outdoor seating is laid-back, salt air and all. I also grabbed the buffalo bread as an afterthought. Best mistake of the trip. A local told me about this spot. I owe them a drink. The pizza stands on its own. No gimmicks. Just a great slice in a place that doesn't try too hard.

Fun décor for kids
Excellent honey cake and baklava
Relaxing morning atmosphere

Sunrise Cafe isn't a pizza joint, but it belongs near the best. I stopped for coffee and stayed for the honey cake. The baklava is even better. Fresh food, consistent every visit. I've been twice, and both times the kitchen delivered. The décor keeps kids busy, which matters on vacation. I sat and watched the morning roll by. Relaxing. That's the word. Great coffee too. If you're on the beach and need a break from slices, come here. You won't regret it.

Live music nightly
Favorite local hangout
Order at bar
Great burger, basic pub fare
Friendly crowd, good vibes

Salty Goat Saloon is a bar first, pizza place maybe never. But the burger is great. I ordered at the bar, and the crowd was friendly. Live music played every night I visited. The vibe is easy. People talk to strangers here. The pub fare is basic, nothing fancy. But it's hot, it's fast, and it's honest. I didn't come for the pizza. I came for a cold drink and a decent meal. This place delivered on both. Good local hangout.

Great dough, crispy bottom
Worth the wait, dine in
Dark bar, excellent pizza

Mosey's Downtown hides in a dark bar. The pizza is the star. Huge slices, fresh toppings, and a dough that holds up. The bottom gets crispy, just how I like it. The place was worth the wait. Order inside, find a stool, and dig in. The service is no-nonsense. You're here to eat. The dark room makes the pizza glow. I tried one slice, then another. Leave room. This is the kind of spot you tell your friends about, quietly.

Savory options for later
Midday still fully stocked
Coffee pairs perfectly

Parlor Doughnuts does breakfast, but I'm here for the maple. The French toast one too. Both are winners. They make gluten-free donuts to order, which is rare. I showed up midday, and they still had a full case. That never happens. The coffee pairs perfectly with the sweetness. I grabbed a savory option for later. Smart move. This place is a detour, but worth it. If you're near the beach and need a sugar fix, go here. No regrets.

Juicy, messy, no-gimmick burger
Fun, relaxed beach bar vibe

Longboards nails the thin crust. It's cracker-crisp and loaded right. The bar pours cheap drinks, and the crew is friendly. But the fried mushrooms stole the show. I almost forgot about the pizza. Almost. The burger is juicy and messy, zero gimmicks. Just a proper beach bar meal. The vibe is relaxed, sand on the floor. You can watch the game or stare at the water. Either way, you'll eat well. I'll come back for the mushrooms alone.

Just Jump is not about pizza. It's about bouncing. I took a break from the beach and ended up here. The safety staff watches everything, which I appreciated. The place is huge, with different stations for different skill levels. There's an arcade and a snack bar for when you're done. Perfect for kids, but I saw adults laughing too. The prices are fair. It's a solid way to burn energy on a rainy day. I left tired and happy.

Great bourbon and homemade Greek dressing

Angelo's Steak Pit has been here since 1954. The family still runs it. I ordered a steak, and it came perfect. The cinnamon butter is famous, and for good reason. Simple menu. Outstanding food. I also tried the homemade Greek dressing, which was a nice surprise. The bourbon list is solid. This place doesn't chase trends. It just does steak right, every time. The history shows. I felt like I walked into an old-school Florida institution. Worth the trip.

Hershey's Beach Ice Cream Shop is chaos, in the best way. Huge variety. I counted flavors and gave up. The young staff was funny and quick. They kept the line moving. I grabbed a cone, then another. The place is great for families. Kids get loud, but nobody cares. It's consistent too. I've stopped here before, and it never disappoints. After a long day at the beach, this is the finish line. Sweet, cold, and exactly right.

WonderWorks is a pink upside-down building. You see it from a mile away. Curiosity pulls you in. The exhibits are hands-on and loud. I did the Wonder Coaster with my kid. We both screamed. The rooftop obstacle course adds a real adventure. For a beach day, it's a smart break. Science meets fun, and nobody gets bored. The staff keeps things safe and friendly. I left with a headache from the noise, but a good one. This place delivers.
